Summit page
Summit is a collaborative sci-fi larp about social order—why it is upheld, and how it is broken. With toxic fog on the surface of the planet, and clean air only atop mountains, Zé has developed a hierarchical society where fresh air is the greatest currency. The Sunken class must dive into the dangerous miasma to scavenge resources upon which society depends, while the Peakborn rule atop the mountains. The Unmoored merchant class floats between the two on airborn raft-towns.

When the classes gather at the mountain's plateau for a yearly ceremony, it’s supposed to reinforce everyone’s place in society. This year is different. This year, they find something new in the fog. When you’re born into your role in life, what does it mean to change your future?

What We Do

We run story-focused larps that take place at different times and locations in an original sci-fi galaxy. Each game tackles new subjects, with new setting material and themes to explore. We do not do campaign larps, and there isn't character continuity between our games. We look forward to designing different experiences for our players every time!
• Seasonal Weekend Events •
• 4 days overnight • Spring on the West Coast, Fall on the East Coast •

In 2017 and 2018, our large scale weekend games happened once a year in California. In 2019, we will be expanding to both coasts with two major events a year. The weekend events include immersive game time over the weekend, high budget production, engaging workshops, and bespoke character sheets.
• Convention Larps •
We appear at several conventions a year to run 4-6 hour larps. Create a new language to salvage your culture, stowaway on a spaceship, and partake in the greatest space race in the galaxy!

The Experience

Cooperative Gameplay

Our larp is rules-light and focused on building scenes together. Even our sword combat system is cooperative and based on improv theater. Although characters may come into conflict or face external threats, the game is ultimately about players co-creating the story.

Players First

We believe not only that players come before the game, but that the game is better when players are supported and taken care of. To that end, we dedicate workshops to safety and cooperation, have a code of conduct and victim-centric procedures, and employ larp counselors at our events.

Emergent Stories

We love roleplaying and creating memorable scenes. Much of the stories of Event Horizon are created by the players, and focused on the decisions and interactions of individuals. Each player receives a bespoke character sheet prior to the event. The Weekend Events have an overarching plot that lurks in the background at first, then emerges in a grand finale that raises the stakes for everyone.

We call our style of larp Integrated Larp.

It’s the greatest spaceship race in the galaxy, and the racing crews have one last night to get their heads in the game. But during the race, the ships have a mind of their own. An American Freeform event set in the Event Horizon universe.
No prior knowledge of the EH setting is needed and the game is extremely setting-light. Over the course of the game you will strive to improve the morale and teamwork of your race crew, have private moments with your ship, and collaboratively build the story of the race via in-character interviews with the press. No character sheets are given and structured character creation happens at game. 30-40 players.
