The Runaways
Life on the run gets exhausting, but you can’t stop running. Not yet.
You don’t know who made you, and you don’t really know why. You were raised in a scientific research facility on a remote space station. You had only each other for comfort, and the scientists who did experiments on you, pushed you, made you try harder. They didn’t torture you, but they also didn’t particularly seem to care about you. You had classes, you learned about the outside world, and you were well-fed.
But a cage is a cage, and it had to break eventually. You organized. You planned. Not everyone wanted to go. Half of the cohort stayed behind. But not you. You made it out. You were being temporarily transferred to another facility for a series of measurements, and you took the opportunity. They had been training you for years, and still, somehow they underestimated all of you.
You are all Innates, and all extremely powerful. You might specialize in different fields, and your powers are often unpredictable, but with all of you working together, it was enough. You overpowered the guards, and took control of the Jumpship you were on. The Navigator of the ship was unconscious, but somehow that didn’t matter. One of you reached out and linked to the drive, untrained, without the implants, and it came to life.
That was almost a year ago, and you’ve been on the run ever since. You know you’re being followed, by bounty hunters and agents. They call themselves the Silencers. You’re not entirely sure if that’s the name of the organization that created you, or just the ones who are hunting you, but it doesn’t matter. You want to be free of them.
So you’ve come here, to the furthest possible place from the rest of civilization. You’re pretending to be a family now, ready to set down roots and make a new life. That’s all you want, really: a new life, without cages, and without being on the run. You’ve been running too long. Isn’t it finally time to rest?

Description:
You are the child of Baryosi Naval officers and were born during the Homeworld War. You spent most of your life on Naval ships, but hold on to early memories of a bay city on Baryos. You grew up with the privileges of a Navy brat whose parents were high ranking officers, but towards the end of the war, both of your parents were disgraced. Suddenly, you were living in cramped quarters on a space station with heartbroken parents and an infant sister.
To support your family, you fell in with criminals, and learned the art of smuggling. As a family, you moved around often. Smuggling was a job you could pick up anywhere. And you were good at it. Even after all the horror’s you’ve seen, you still love the thrill of pulling the rug out from the law’s feet.
Your sister F. Tydar ((Alice Lyte)) showed signs of innate abilities, and since Innates were outlawed after the War, your family tried to keep her abilities a secret. You were both protective and jealous of her. One day, strangers were in your home, offering to protect your sister by taking her to a school where she could learn to control her powers. You didn’t trust them. To your horror, your parents accepted money in exchange for sending your sister to this “school”. Your parents sold her. Infuriated with your parents, you spent more and more time away from home and with the smuggling ring, but the Baryosi sense of family bond is strong, and you never managed to give up your parents entirely.
As you made connections in the smuggling ring, and traveled to different colonies and planets, you searched for clues to your sister’s whereabouts. (Of course, the “school” she was supposed to go to was fictitious.) You became an expert criminal, and would do basically anything in your line of work to get the job done -- but you refused to be part of human trafficking. You used to work with a bounty hunter Z. Gorai ((Trista Schultz)) but split ways after you turned down a human trafficking job they readily accepted. Finally, two years ago, you got a real lead on your sister’s location: a rumored facility that experimented on Innates.
You used everything in your arsenal to find this place. When you did, you posed as a vetted bodyguard and got yourself hired as part of the facility’s transport crew. Over the course of nine months, you worked for the facility, including kidnapping children with Innate abilities. You made contact with one of the experiments, 32, who helped you find your sister. With 32, you made plans to free a group of experiments. Finally, you were reunited with your sister, who had been given the number 33 and didn’t remember her real name.
During the escape attempt, two of the experiments died including your partner in crime 32. 28 ((Jenna Bergstraesser)) stepped up during the chaos, and has been calling the shots ever since. You’re the only one with real practical knowledge of the galaxy, and 28 needs you in order to lead. Now you are using your criminal background to keep the experiments free, and trying to help them find a home.
Light: Even though you’re a criminal, you have a strong sense of right and wrong. You have done bad things in the past, and can’t justify everything you’ve done, but many of the wrongs you’ve committed have been for the sake of your family. You like to think everything in your life has lead to freeing the Innates and reuniting with your sister.
Dark: But what if you’re wrong? What if you fail? You’ve lost some of the Innates along the way and have no one to blame but yourself. If you’re not on the right path, then you’re likely to hurt others. Without guidance you can’t run from the things you’ve done.
