The Corporation / Distant Light
The Enterios Corporation is providing the initial funding for the establishment of the Phaelos III colony, as well as owning the Distant Light, the massive colony ship transporting the colonists. Enterios has funded massive endeavors over its century-and-a-half history, but rarely of such galactic importance or political visibility. As such, the Enterios Board of Directors are watching the colony extremely closely, and the CEO, N. Stormsmith ((Erik Chen)), is accompanying the expedition in person.

Description:
You still remember the feeling of waves against the hull of your ship, the smell of the salt spray, the cut of the wind against your cheek. Every time your ship makes the jump to warp, the memories come back to you. It’s not the same, of course. Nothing will ever be like that. But the thrill of travel still comes close. You spent your adolescence among fellow Gyra refugees out in the colonies, including your cousin R. Nyr-fan ((Katherine Hill)), but as soon as you could, you enrolled to be trained as a Navigator. You had to travel again, to chase those memories.
As soon as you graduated, you signed on with L. Vy-an ((Chris Bergstresser)), who had been one of the great professional colonists before the war. Now Vy-an was the Captain of a smaller jumpship, the Current of Memory, which traveled between the various colonies giving support where it was needed. Whenever possible, the Current met with Gyra refugee groups throughout the colonies.
As time went on, though, you became increasingly unsatisfied with Vy-an’s leadership. Vy-an didn’t want revenge against the Agerrans, and didn’t even seem to particularly care about finding a new home for the Gyra. They wanted to focus on supporting the surviving refugees, which was all well and good, but you needed more than that. Your cousin got back in touch with you, and brought you into two things--the Silent Conversation, and the teachings of A. Ya-rett ((Richard Dupell)).
Ya-rett was a radical, someone who genuinely was willing to do what it took to get Gyra civilization back to where it should be. You became a quiet but intense follower, and started carrying messages for the Silent Conversation, on behalf of your cousin. At first, that didn’t amount to much, and seemed to go down the drain when Ya-rett was captured by the Agerrans for “agitating.” You grew disillusioned, and starting arguing with Captain Vy-an even more. Vy-an threatened to throw you off the ship, but you knew they didn’t mean it--where would they find another Navigator, anyway?
Your chance came about six months ago. The Silent Conversation caught wind of the plan to colonize Phaelos III, and you were their key to a new plan. Your cousin got in touch with you, and laid things out for you. You’re still not sure how, but somehow they pulled quite a few strings and managed to get one of the three Navigators for the Distant Light, P. Caesura ((Susan Linich)), taken out of commission. You feel bad for Caesura, but you heard recently that they took your place on the Current, which is hopefully a better fit for everyone.
Meanwhile, you took Caesura’s place aboard the Distant Light. You’re now the co-Navigator, flying it alongside two others. You’ve never done this before, and the process is jarring, to say the least. You’ve been trying your best to synchronize with the other two Navigators, F. Karali ((Lionel Honda)) and B. Ana Rous ((Christina Wong)), but it’s not easy. They’ve been flying together for years, and that kind of bond doesn’t just happen overnight. It also doesn’t help that you have to work consciously to keep your secret mission from them while your minds are linked. So far, you’ve been able to make it work, barely, but the mental strain has been devastating.
And that secret mission? You’re spying inside Enterios, trying to find what blackmail material you can. Anything that the Silent Conversation can use as leverage against the corporation. When the time comes, the Gyra are going to take Phaelos III as their new Homeworld. You don’t care what the corporation says. You know that some people might argue, some people might even get hurt in the process. But you accept that. There always have to be sacrifices. And you’ve seen the images of Phaelos III--it’s a world of wide oceans. It’ll all be worth it to smell that salt air again. Nothing will ever replace Gyr, but maybe, just maybe, you can find a new sea to sail.
Light: You love your home. You are driven forth among the stars in the hopes of finding a place for your people and your passion. Gyr will never be reborn, but you can always find it in your dreams.
Dark: You blindly obey the wishes of a charismatic individual, and you keep secrets from those you’re supposed to be able to be open to. You’ve given your life to this cause, without care that it could hurt real people.
