The Research Team
Phaelos III is home to some of the most interesting Ancient ruins discovered in recent memory. Thirty years ago, when the world was first discovered, a research team was dispatched study the ruins. They mysteriously vanished. Now, with the rediscovery of Phaelos III, the time has come to continue that work. You are the new team of researchers, funded jointly by the Enterios Corporation and the University of Titan’s Passage. You are a mix of linguists, engineers, theoretical physicists, archaeologists, and more. Each of you has a primary research focus or project, but is also here to further the interests of those funding you.

Name: R. Nou Asan
Group: Researchers
Homeworld: Dor Len Sono/Baryos
Variant: Innate
Character Coach: Cheynne Procenko ([email protected])
Description:
You were born the second child to One of Dor Len Sono’s nine queens, making you a princess. A princess who would never have to deal with the burden of rule, but a princess nonetheless. You grew up knowing some of the other princesses, like S. Ana Sola ((Danielle Harper)) and D. Lim Baro ((Hazel Court)). When you were very young, your father fell out of the Queen’s favor and your family was sent off planet. Your father took you and settled down on Baryos, where he started working at the University of Titan’s Passage. You grew up, surrounded by academia. Often times, you’d sneak into the various labs where bored, underpaid graduate students would show you cool chemistry tricks. You were mystified, and wanted to learn more.
Eventually, that curiosity paid off. You studied science and mathematics rigorously and made it into the University of Titan’s Passage. There you majored in Theoretical Engineering and Archaeology. Stories of ancient ruins and technology had sparked your famous curiosity, and you wanted to know more. You’ve fashioned yourself as part adventuring archaeologist, part professor. You alternate semesters teaching engineering as it applies to ancient structures, and heading to dig sites to actually do field work. Sometimes you leave a dig site with more than you brought with you. That is to say, those artifacts are gorgeous, and you just want to investigate them on your own time, without all of those annoying forms to fill out. So you might have a small and growing collection of artifacts, so what? They are better off in your hands anyways.
Early into your undergraduate career, you noticed that you were sensing things that you couldn’t explain. Your mind felt like it was doing things that weren’t possible by typical scientific standards. You were an Innate, born with psychic abilities. You’ve done your best to hide your abilities. After the war and the destruction of gyr, it’s not safe for you to be open about your innate status, but recently, a reporter from the Colonial News Bulletin, N. Ransha ((Stephanie De Mane)) has started asking people at the university about Innates. You decided to ask them more about why they were investigating, and they said they are looking to write a piece to try and destigmatize innate status. You’ve told them your innate status on the condition that any articles they publish about you make you an anonymous source. They seem really sympathetic to your problems, and seem at least somewhat trustworthy.
In one of your trips to Dor Len Sono’s polar ice caps, where several ancient mausoleums are located, you decided to check in with your mother, see how things were going with your childhood friends. S. Ana Sola has taken their role seriously and is working towards being a diplomat and possibly joining the Council of Nine later in life. D. Lim Baro has run away from their duties and no one has heard from them in a while. Your mother has informed you, your older half-sister and next in line for the throne has died. Technically, you are now next in line for the throne. You feel conflicted, as Baryos has felt more like home than Dor Len Sono ever will. You don’t have to care about this for now, because your mother is in good health, but how long will that last?
You’ve recently joined the expedition for Phaelos III. Signs point to ancient ruins on the planet, which means more exciting research to do, and more artifacts to collect!
Light: You are an adventurer, and lead others on wondrous journeys into the unknown. You expand knowledge that everyone relies on, improving galactic civilizations a whole.
Dark: You can sometimes be a little selfish, enjoying the thrill of the hunt more than giving knowledge to the people. You sometimes collect your finds which you could be sharing with the world. You did all the work, why shouldn’t you have them?
